The Surpan River strolls in the midst of grassland. Kanha is the home of barasingha the only surviving species of central India. The deer can be seen in the mukki range. This area is also ideal for spotting dholes or wild dog. Kanha can be observed from jeep or on elephant back. Most of the creatures in the forests have mastered the art of camouflage, so at times it may become difficult to spot a creature particularly unless you know what you are looking for. Yet the mystique and the romance of traversing the jungle is much more exciting than anywhere in the world.
