Have you ever anticipated yourself dressed in Khaki clothing, with belted bush jackets, slouch hats or pith helmets in an overland journey? Where you get an opportunity to photograph tiger in camouflage - about to trap an unwary prey. Or beautiful lake surrounded by lush green forests where migratory aquatic birds of more than 100 species can be seen, feeding their young off springs or diving in water for fishes. Or a rhino hidden in tall grasses disliking your presence; while you are enjoying a ride on an elephant.
Every wildlife tour in India bears different yet surprising and delighting spirits. And you know you have arrived in the most exciting travel destination in the world. Starting with the wild stupor in the north- you can drive to Ranthambore straight away from Delhi or halt at Jaipur for an overnight rest. Here you encounter an elating experience to sight the big cat, and beautiful migratory bird at Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary which is just 225 kms from Ranthambore. You can increase the possibility to spot tiger, sloth bear, leopard and wild boar in Bandhavgarh, a National park in Madhya Pradesh. The population of tiger here is relatively high.
After this you arrive to Asia's finest park which is about 175 kms from Jabalpur. And beautifully addressed in kipling's 'Jungle book', The Kanha National park where you find wild pig, deer, bison, variety of monkeys and 200 species of birds. The Surpan River strolls in the midst of grassland. Kanha is the home of barasingha the only surviving species of central India. The deer can be seen in the mukki range. This area is also ideal for spotting dholes or wild dog. Kanha can be observed from jeep or on elephant back. Most of the creatures in the forests have mastered the art of camouflage, so at times it may become difficult to spot a creature particularly unless you know what you are looking for. Yet the mystique and the romance of traversing the jungle is much more exciting than anywhere in the world. There is no wrong time to visit India, choose your time and it will be the right time for us.
